The Dunboyne Film Festival was established in 2026 by Ronan Power and Daniel Flattery, as a way to showcase the great work their further education students were producing. Due to the success of the 1st edition of DFF which took place in May 2026, the decision was made to expand the festival and make it an annual event. The 2027 edition of the festival will be open to submissions not just from Ireland but from around the world.

Festival Director
Ronan Power
Ronan is a filmmaker and film educator from county Kildare, Ireland. He earned his BA in Film and Broadcasting from Technological University Dublin before achieving a Postgraduate Diploma in Further Education Teaching from the National College of Ireland. He currently works in Dunboyne College of Further Education where he is the programme lead for the HND in Film Production, a course that he was instrumental in bringing into the college.

Dan Flattery
Dan is a filmmaker and award winning academic from county Kildare, Ireland. He earned his BA in English and Film from Edinburgh Napier University before achieving a Masters in Film Studies from the University of St Andrews. He has vast experience working on short films and TV documentaries in various roles. He currently is lecturing in Dunboyne College of Further Education where he is head of the documentary department.
